Mar Acuatic Resort is comprised of 38 dormitories distributed in three different floors. These dorms of 4, 6, 8, and 10 beds can be adapted depending on dorm assignment, which is determined by the age and gender of the participants.

The dorms are equipped with closets and fans, and each bed has its sheets, pillows, and blankets if needed.

THE RESIDENCE

A new concept of accommodation and integrated services.

Mar Acuatic Resort is set right on the seafront and only ten minutes away from the airport. This allows us to offer larger packages that include accommodation and meals

We have 38 bedrooms with all the services, a dinning area with capacity for 150 people, a private kitchen, a small disco area, a room to teach English, a large terrace, a solarium, a storeroom for boats, a climbing wall, and a large multipurpose area to carry out the different sports activities.

Depending on the room distribution made, the center can hold up to 200 children that can be assigned in groups of 4, 6, 8, or 12. The camp also counts with auxiliary cabins on the ground floor with capacity for 40 people, which are conveniently designed to attend the necessities of anyone with any kind of physical disability. We can, thus, adapt to the needs of each case and customize the service.

SAFETY

HEALTH CARE PLAN

Mar Acuatic Resort is located on the beach promenade in Los Alcázares; that means the residence is far from being isolated as it occurs with other summer camps. It is, on the contrary, surrounded by nearby medical centers that give immediate assistance in the face of any incident. There are four centers close to M.A.R. that provide health assistance:
  • Primary care center in Los Narejos (5 minutes on foot).
  • Health center in Los Alcázares (5 minutes away by car).
  • University Hospital ‘Los Arcos del Mar Menor’ in Pozo Aledo (15 minutes away by car).
  • Red Cross booth at the beach, just 100 meters away from our working center.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

Posted on June 20, 2014

After many years organizing sailing camps, there are some common questions that tend to arise time and again. We are pleased to respond here to some of the points that will be of most use to you..

1. MAY MY CHILD BRING A CELL PHONE?

Yes. However, please bear in mind that during the activities cell phones will be switched off, so the best time to talk to your child is during lunch or dinner.

2. HOW CAN I CONTACT MY CHILD BY TELEPHONE DURING THE CAMP?

There are fixed call hours:

  • During the supervised spare time after lunch, or
  • After the afternoon activities, before dinner.
Parents will be informed about the exact schedule on the arrival day, which will depend on the given
They can either call their child directly or the group leader on duty. The office landline phone is exclusively used for administrative issues during business hours.

3. IS THERE A DAY ESTABLISHED FOR VISITING CHILDREN AT THE CAMP?

No. As the camp only lasts 10 days, external visits are not considered necessary unless it is due to an emergency.

4.  IS THERE A PLACE TO WASH CLOTHES?

Yes there is, but this does not mean that your child will need to use it. This is, in any case, an additional service (contact to consult price)*. For this reason we recommend that you provide your child with plenty of clothes (mainly with enough underwear, t-shirts and shorts).

* Fifteen-day camps have the laundry service included in the price so your child won’t have to carry so many clothes. The washing will take place in the middle of their stay.

5. CAN I VISIT MY CHILD IN HIS ROOM DURING THE CAMP?

No, access to the bedrooms by the parents is not allowed once the activities have started (if it were necessary, one of the coordinators would walk you there).

6. CAN OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS APART FROM PARENTS PICK UP THE CHILD BY THE END OF THE CAMP?

Yes, but if others who are not parents or guardians wish to take the child off the facilities, the parents must expressly authorize it and the center must have a proof of this permission.

7. MY CHILD CANNOT EAT (OR SHOULD TAKE…). WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Simply let us know. We will adapt the diet to his or her needs, or, should it be necessary, we will control the proper administration of the medication*.

*The law establishes that no instructor or coordinator can administer your child’s medicine, but instead s/he can only check the appropriate dosage is taken at the right time. In the case of younger children, an agreement can be reached by means of a written parental consent so that we can make an exception.

8. ARE THE CHILDREN SAFE FROM POSSIBLE HEAT STROKES?

Yes, taking care of your child’s well-being is paramount to us.

While sailing, children are made to wear a t-shirt, a hat and appropriate shoes. The instructors remind them to always apply sun cream before starting the activity as well.

9.  IS SAILING SAFE?

Yes, your child is completely safe sailing on the Mar Menor. Since a strip encloses the waters, they are very calm, with little swell and gentle breezes, which makes the lagoon such a safe location to practice water sports. In addition, they always sail with their life jackets on, and go either with a certified instructor together on the same boat or s/he closely follows the children from a motorboat.

10. CAN THE CHILDREN LEAVE THE FACILITIES?

The children can only move within the limits of the facilities and the adjacent beach and promenade. When children go swimming it is under surveillance of the coordinators.

WHAT TO BRING

Posted on June 20, 2014

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

  • A cap, essential for sailing.
  • Several T-shirts (they will be used while sailing as well).
  • Shoes for sailing (e.g. wetsuit boots, neoprene boots, closed rubber sandals, or similar).
  • At least a couple of swimming costumes.
  • Water-resistant sun cream – high factor – and after sun lotion.
  • Items of personal hygiene such as shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, deodorant, etc.
  • “Smarter” clothes for the excursions.
  • A warm sweater, pullover, or tracksuit jacket for the night and sports trousers.
  • Bath towel, hand towel, and beach towel.
  • Flashlight (optional).
  • Sunglasses (optional).
  • Anti-mosquito lotion.
  • If you wear glasses or contact lenses, we suggest you bring a spare pair.
  • Medicines + dosage instructions (when children are under medical treatment).

OBSERVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

  • It is recommended to mark clothes with the child’s name so that they can be easily distinguished from that of other participants (there are useful special markers for this purpose).
  • Whenever the teenagers move around with the bus they must notify it to the coordinators so that they can pick them up and walk them to the center.
  • Unnecessary material: video console, mp3, etc.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

The parents or guardians must provide the camp any documentation needed to allow for medical treatment (either the personal health insurance card or a photocopy of the healthcare documentation containing information of the child). The following documents are therefore needed:

- A copy of the health insurance card (sent by email with registration) + ORIGINAL

- A copy of the ID card (sent by email with registration) + ORIGINAL

- An invoice or proof of payment of the camp (sent by email with registration) + ORIGINAL

- A medical certificate indicating the absence of any physical or psychic disability that prevents the child from taking part in the camp activities (see the sections ACTIVITIES, WORKSHOPS, AND SOIREES of the web).

All the documents must be sent by e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. where the CAMP DATE AND THE CHILD NAME should be clearly stated.

PHYSICAL CONDITION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CAMP

Participants in the camp should not be suffering from contagious illnesses or physical conditions that prevent them from taking part, in any way, in sailing.

CASH

It is not necessary for participants to bring a large amount of money to the activity. They may have some expenses during the daily spare time – when they can have an ice cream or a slush – or the night we go to the fair. Around 2 euros a day should be enough.

This said, a “camp bank” will be available for children to leave any amount of money they want. A group leader will be responsible for taking care of it during their stay at the camp. Likewise, they can place their cell phones inside a bag or mark them with a sticker and hand it to the mentioned coordinator or leader on the day of arrival to the center.
